What does the unitbuf name stand for ?

  1. Hello

Very simple question (hope not too silly, but if I do not understand a
name, I can not remember it).

What does the ios manipulator (or format flag) name "unitbuf" (to flush
output buffer after each write) stand for ?

    Thank you,

Just a hunch: does it allude to the buffer length being equal to one [unit]?
    Something like "single-unit-buf"?
