What Happens After Exception in ejbCreate() for MDB?

Let's say an Exception is thrown from a method called by ejbCreate()
for a MessageDrivenBean. So what happens? Does that mean the MDB is not
initialized, and the another message will try to call ejbCreate(), then
onMessage()?
From looking at thread#'s (because I see the same thread# trying again
later to initialize going through ejbCreate()), it looks as if the
thread still exists, but another message is received and tries to call
ejbCreate(), then onMessage() if ejbCreate() succeeds. Is this true?

So the thread just stops, doesn't die, and another JMS message will use
the thread to process?
