VBA is a superset of the Visual Basic language. It is a combination of VB 6
with some VB Scripting bits. It is not VB.NET.

It's another VB offshoot. It's used mostly for macros and scripting in
applications. Other companies often license VBA for use in their own
applications for these purposes. I know that Corel licensed it for use in
their products such as CorelDraw 12. I believe AutoDesk licensed it at one
point as well but I may be mistaken. It is definitely not VB.Net. I'm not
sure exactly what version of VB it is most akin to, but when I toyed with it
it seemed very much like an in-between VBScript and VB.

Hope this helps,

I would characterize it as a subset of VB 6.0, rather than a superset.

It is essentially VB 6.0 specifically used in conjunction with Office
applications.
