Why does DataGrid1.Columns.Count give me zero?

    Even if I step through AFTER I call:
    DataGrid1.DataBind();

    int mycount = DataGrid1.Columns.Count
    mycount is zero.

    WHY? This is rediculous the grid builds great with FOUR columns??
