Windows XP Professional cshut down

Jolle

Hy,

Recently I ran some additional programs to speed up my computer. Since then
it takes a long time to shut down.
Where in the past the PC shutted down directly, he now gives a message "It's
safe to turn off your computer now".
How can I change this again ? It takes about 2 minutes before the meaasge
comes up

Thanks in advance,

Jolle

Think you are in the wrong group.. but think i have seen this somewhere

Check the settings under My Computer >> Manager >> Device Manager >>
Computer..
if you have single proc.. it should be either standard PC or ACPI PC

If it is standard change it to ACPI... (that enable OS to interact with
Bios)

You will need to restart... once you do that... get into the Bios

boot up screen >> Del or F2 or something like that
you will have a configurations section... you will have option where you can
specify whether its ACPI or standard... make sure its correct there...

hope that helped and next time try window xp or some similar group
