Hi,
If you want to have a web service which transfers file to/from a client app,
is that easily done with WSE 2.0 attachment?
Does the client need to have WSE installed for it to send/recieve an
attachment?

thanks

what specifically does installing WSE to client do? transfer file(s)
from client to server or the other way around?

Yes, it is an easy and general way to send messages with DIME attachments
in .NET.
Does the client need to have WSE installed for it to send/recieve an

Yes, you have to install WSE (whatever version 1.0 or 2.0) on the both
client- and server-sides.

WSE does not intend only for sending DIME messages with attachments.
This is rather power .NET library, which provides abilities to secure
and route your messages also. If you are planing to use these features in
your applications and you will be responsible for client-side also you have
to install WSE there also.

Of course, always there is "a hard way" - to use your own or third party
libraries, if any, that implements DIME specification.

But, from my point of view, this is very stupidly to do so, when there is a
good tested, common used library with the installation that gets about 1
minute.
