xsd definition to auto-generate a key field?

Is there a way to create a xsd "key" field such that when I insert a
record into the dataset the "key" field is auto-generated like some
databases use rowid?

XSD has no ability to auto-generate unique values, only to check that
they are unique. Generating values is the application's responsibility.
