XSLT is way faster using Java 5

Discussion in 'Java' started by Matt Stephens, Feb 6, 2005.

  1. XSLT using J2SE 5.0 is much faster than in J2SE 1.4.2. It turns out
that the reason is that JAXP 1.5.0 now uses XSLTC instead of Xalan (and
for straight XML, they now use Xerces instead of Crimson).

This short article includes a short benchmark test which runs a small
    transformation 1000 times:

    The results are surprising.
