Client Server

Hi Everyone

I am trying to develop a client/server application based on an ATM machine

I understand how to send data to the server. It seems to be fine. However
when the "Withdraw button is pressed " items from the client such as Account
Number etc must be sent to the server. The server then uses account number
and a password to verify that the account is genuine. All this data is held
in a file called code. However how do I read this data into the server in
order to determine if the password and account number are genuine. I presume
string compare is needed but really confused. Any help would be greatly
appreciated

thanks

regards

Andrew

Hello,

You can use the .equals() method or .equalsIgnoreCase() method to verify
the passwords.
However, I think it is a good idea to buy some books about Java to get
started.
This will probably prevent a lot of extra work in the future when your
application matures.

For client server communication, RMI is a very good choice. For
persistency, you may want to use JDO or JDBC, this is in long /mid-term a
lot less work then implementing you're own system for writing data to
files.
