can anyone please point me to a link or a tutorial how to design a nice
horizontal navigation bar using CSS?
I went to Google and some other search engine, but did not find anything
suitable.

I had a look at it and now I am wondering whether the navigation for the
choice of the language would look better
horizontally as in http://www.scaiecat-spa-gigi.com/sv/valkommen.html but as
a list or as in http://www.scaiecat-spa-gigi.com/sv/monti.html
