How to transmit data on serial port using VC++ .NET under XP?

Hi,

What is the right manner for transmitting data on the serial port of a PC
using VC++.NET (under XP) ?

I used to use the ActiveX MSComm under VB6, which becomes obsolete and needs
a certification, only available if Visual Studio 6 is installed.
