.NET frontend + J2EE backend (how?)

I have a J2EE backend and I want to develop a frontend using .NET
(simply because SWING sucks so much), any ideas of how to do this?

There are a few options,

1. Using a intermediate technology:
a. Messaging systems like "JMS" (using enterprise messaging patterns)
b. Web Services

2. A transactional component system such as CORBA/IIOP.net

3. I have heard of people using Hessian (http://www.caucho.com/hessian/)
