I am writing a vb.net application that needs to connect to and call Oracle stored procedures. My background is MS SQL so I am used to SQLClient / ODBC / OLE db etc, but new to Oracle.
In my simple way of thinking, I presume the 1.1 framework's managed OracleClient library is all I need to make the connection. It seems that to connect to Oracle I need the Oracle 8i Client s/w instaleld on my machine. I have also heard that Oracle provide managed code as ODP.Net, but it's not clear if this is for 8i.
Can anyone shed some light on what I should be using?
