Why do we need a special construct to support a pattern?

Do lots of people really use decorators that often?

Why do we need a special construct to support a pattern?

Do lots of people really use decorators that often?

I think that with decorators available, their usage will greatly
increase. With having to write foo = decorator(foo), I daresay nobody
got the idea to write function-wrappers that function like this.
