Table Web Control

I am using the table web control on an aspx page.
what i want to do is everytime i post back to the page
(depending on the link) i want to add or delete rows from
this table.

The problem seems to be is everytime i post back, the
table control seems to lose it's current 'state' and the
rows that had been previously created are gone(using the
table.rows.count function as verification).
I explicitly set the control's ViewState property to true
but that still doesn't work.

any help is greatly appreciated.
