how to make an app which when runs, does some work by pressing ALT + F1
or F2 (etc) and stops by pressing any single key. (I DONT WANA TOGGLE
KEYS)

There is no mechanism in C++ language to accomplish that. You need to
consult with the programming manual for your OS. If you prefer posting
to newsgroups instead, try the newsgroup for your OS. There is a list
