upper limit - no of fstreams

Hi

Is there an upper limit to the number of file streams that can
simultaneously be open?
Pointers to resources will be welcome.

There is no limit provided by C++. But OS can limit this (eg. DOS use FILES
to provide maximum number of opened files).
