The LASER Summer School on Software Engineering is devoted this year
(11-17 September) to concurrency and real time. Speakers are Amir
Pnueli, Jay Misra, Laura Dillon, Wolfgang Pree, Joseph Sifakis and
Bertrand Meyer. Each will teach a set of 6 in-depth lectures,
complemented by participant reports, guest lectures and a round table of
all speakers at the end of each day.
The school has both a strong practical slant and theoretical contents
and is intended for PhD students as well as researchers and engineers
from industry.
The LASER school takes place in the idyllic setting of the island of
Elba off the coast of Tuscany, in the best Elba hotel (Hermitage) with
private beach etc. Ample time is left for recreational activities and
interaction between the participants and lecturers.
