Controls in ASP .NET for PC and Pocket PC applications

Discussion in 'ASP .Net Building Controls' started by Michael Friel, Sep 15, 2003.

  1. I have a requirement to develop a web site using ASP .NET
that will initially be used in IE on a PC but eventually
be used on a pocket PC or PDA. The application will use
two client side customised controls one that will be
developed by extending a third party control, the other
will be primarily a sockets based communications control.

My question here is, is it possible to develop this site
and all aspects generically, i.e. one size fits all for
the PC and Pocket PC scenario or is it preferable to have
separate ring fenced development for each usage case?
Secondly would a customized control initially developed
for a PC application be usable on a Pocket PC?

    Mike
