Data View for .xml file: InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid

Hello,

I am trying to edit an xml file. I am using Visual Studio .NET 2003.
When I click on the "Data" tab (instead of the XML tab) to enter in
data like in excel, the following occurs: If I try to edit/enter
data, I get this error:

InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid

I AM able to edit the xml from the xml tab, just not the data tab. A
coworker told me that he has this problem pretty often. If he closes
the file, and then re-opens it, that sometimes fixes the problem.

Anyone know what causes this and how to resolve it permanently???
