declaring real values in vhdl

    hi
    i just want to know how to declare two values
    ymin =[-(2 to the power of 15)+1]
    ymax =[(2 to the power of 15)-1]

    i have tried declaring it as REAL values but modelsim returns a error
    saying its out of range.
