.exp and .lib files

Ivan

When DLLs are compiled in VB, in addition to the dll, there are also
exp and .lib files created. Can somebody tell me what these are for?
Do I need to include them when I deploy my application?

Thanks

Those files contain an information about exported functions of your
component. Such information can be useful for C++ compiler only. But even if
*.exp and *.lib files are missing, they can be generated from your *.dll
using a special tool included in MS Visual Studio. Therefore, there is not
any strong reason to deploy *.exp and *.lib together with *.dll.
