fseek past the eof

The file system its being attempted on is FAT. Do you happen to know what
behavior will (should) be exhibited?

It's much faster to actually try it and see what happens on your actual
target platform. It's also more likely to provide the correct answer for
your target platform (which need not be the same as the one for the
responder's platform, e.g. the Linux behaviour may be different from the
MSDOS behaviour).
