Hijacking Hibernate and restore backgrounds

Hi
I am writing a custom application that will be on locked down hardware
supplied by myself. I do not want the user to shut down the system so will
go into hibernate mode. Do you know how i can customise the background from
the Windows one to my own custom one? Or can i monitor the Hibernate event?
The same for the resume also
