how to read a client side port with servet side scriptting

    Hello everyone,


    I am developing an web application to read COM port on the client pc. i
    have been trying uptil now with the use of applets. i want to know if
    is it possible to do the same with the help of client side scripting
    like jsp or servlets. if yes then how.

    No, it is not possible for a remote server to read the serial port of a
    client computer without the help of code running on the client.
