Click the "Mute" button.

That's like suggesting a general anaesthetic to deal with the pain of a
rose-bush thorn in the calf. Admittedly, it works.

But it has undesirable side-effects if on the same machine one is
enjoying the Prize Song from "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" - or
(currently) <http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00n8vbj>.

One could use a better browser instead. Firefox/Iceweasel itself does not
make sounds here. In any case, it is not a problem caused by or solvable
through scripting.
