Installing dot net - Event ID 1000

Hi,

Not sure if I have the correct group, but thought I would try anyway

I have just had a programming company produce a piece of software that
requires dot net 1.1.

During the installation of the software dot net is first installed. I hit a
snag (first one ever) on a new site in that the dot net installation fails.

Below is the message I found in the event viewer (note PC is Windows XP
SP1). Does anyone have any ideas?
