i used to code in ruby and purebasic, and i want to take a look at perl. so,
is there any nice tutorial / book / website or something? e.g. for ruby
there is the programming guide which is for free.

but more generally, it wouldn't have hurt you to Google for this.

Look at <http://books.perl.org> for a list of books, and critiques.

Seriously, with a at least a little programming background, I would
think the "Llama Book", "Learning Perl", is a good start to get up to
speed quickly. It allows you to get the ropes within one or two days. I
don't mean you *have* to buy it, but borrowing from a library would
certainly be beneficial. I don't think you need to reread it, once you
went through it once.
