hey all,

if i put a publisher file on my webserver is there a way for clients to open
that file so long as they have publisher installed locally?

Yes, you might have to add a mime type to IIS but apart from that it should
download/open when you link to it with a normal hyperlink. Do you want them
to be able to save back to the web server? If so you might want to take a
look at sharepoint, specifically the document libraries.

my publisher file has a datamerge in it and i'm having trouble figuring out
how to make this work by calling it from an asp.net page. my current attempt
is using a text file as the data source. but how do i get a web user the data
file for the data merge?

it would be so nice if you can use a dataset as a merge datasource? any ideas?
