I'm interested to know if there is Any Native MacOS Java classes,
to handle setting of MacOS File Types & creator Codes,
and to Process Apple Events

I have not had to work in that space for a while, but I do recall file
type and creator codes. I do not recall much Apple event support, but
IIRC, there were ways to handle open document and launch app events.

Start at <http://developer.apple.com/java/classic.html> and get the SDK.
Peruse the included docs, and perhaps join Apple's java-dev mailing
list. Many on there have experience with the classic system.
