What's causing this? I thought my app had hung in an infinite loop, but
it turns out it's just slow. I narrowed it down to calling the
java.net.URL (URL context, String spec) constructor -- apparently this
constructor occasionally runs for several entire seconds?!
JDK version is 1.5.0_06 in case it matters (fully up to date, I think).
