what are the equivalent library functions found in conio.h (turbo c++)
for other gnu c++ variations..
i need functions like
gotoxy(),
clrscr(),
getch()...etc.

You need to use a library called ncurses (http://www.gnu.org/software/
ncurses/ncurses.html). It lets you position the cursor, clear the
screen, etc., without hardcoding terminal-specific information into
your program.
