Making the site Google Search Optimized

I am developing a site. The client wants this
site to be Google Search Optimized. How this can be achieved? Please
help me.

The only way is trial and error...

Try something, see what happens. Change it, see what happens. Getting good
ranking is an evolutionary process.

Read up about SEO. It is a big subject. Alternatively, you will have to hire
in an SEO specialist.

If there was an easy way, all sites would be at the number one slot and you
know that is not possible.
