or, could any one give pointers to Perl plugin for Eclipse.

clic on Help - Software Update - Search for new feature to install

Create a new site with -> New Remote Site
Name : EPIC
URL : http://e-p-i-c.sf.net/updates/

Be careful if you've got a proxy.
You need to configure it first in:
Window - Preferences - Install/Updates - Proxy Settings
