Problem with Dialog in Applet

Hi,

I'm having problem displaying a dialog from my applet:

JOptionPane op = new JOptionPane();

op.showMessageDialog(null,"Button Pressed");

Each time this code executes, my browser just locks up (IE 6) and I
have to terminate it, and of course, doesn't show the message
box/dialog.

I believe this has something to do with security (but I could be
wrong). Anyone have a clue as to what the problem is?

sound like the usual 'IE running MSVM'
problem, but check it anyway..
