Problems with width: 100% in IE

Discussion in 'HTML' started by Konrad Hammerer, Mar 23, 2008.

  1. Hi!

    Can somebody tell me why Firefox and IE behave different with the
    following html code:

    http://www.apdata.de/test.html

    I need it the way Firefox is rendering it. How can I get IE to render it
    the same way (only 1 scrollbar (DIV) with 94% width)?

    Thanks,
    Konrad

    What happens if you replace

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

    with

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">

    ?

    From here and for the problem as you specify, do:

    <table style="table-layout:fixed;width: 100%;">

    Oh, thanks so much, Els. I even looked up Erasmus Bridge (-from the
    filename) in Wikipedia. It was quite interesting.
