I'm happy to announce the release of Python 2.6.2 candidate 1. This
release contains dozens of bug fixes since Python 2.6.1. Please see
the NEWS file for a detailed list of changes.

Barring unforeseen problems, Python 2.6.2 final will be released
within a few days.
