Selecting value in a dropdownlist

Maybe basic, but I couldn't find it. In my webpage I've a dropdownlist with for example city names. When I press the 'D', the box goes to the first city with a 'D', press the 'E' and he goes to the first city with an 'E'. What I want is when pressen 'DE', that he shows the first city beginning with 'DE'. And so one, typing 'DENV' must show the first city beginning with 'DENV'. Is this possible?

you would need to build this in, there are some controls on the web which
offer that functionality but i don't have a link.
