SSI and importing partial documents

Hi,

I am wondering if there is a way to include only a portion of a document
when using SSI. For example, if I have a document talking about a new
model train on the market, is there a way I could include only the first
paragraph, first 100 words, or something along those lines, on a what's
new page on my site?
