The california software labs http://www.cswl.com/ has published a
white paper on jini which encompasses the Jetsend-Jini Proxy, Jetsend
Sender soft appliance and the Jetsend Receiver soft appliance..
A Gateway (proxy) act as a bridge between the Jetsend and Non-Jetsend
worlds. Currently gateways for sending/receiving fax and emails do
exist. This enable Jetsend devices to interact with the non-Jetsend
devices. In-order to achieve this transfer of data between a Jetsend
compliant device and a non-Jetsend compliant device a gateway is used,
which by acting as an intermediary device collects data from one
device and translates it into a form suitable for the other device.
