update to VS 2003 SP1 and 'Wireless LAN Connection Indicator"

I did a Windows update recently which also updated VS 2003 to SP1.

The update completed and there is now an icon for "Wireless LAN Connection
Indicator". I cannot either right or left click on it to do anything,
Googling returned that it may be spyware => from Microsoft?

How do I get rid of this "Wireless LAN Connection Indicator"?

this is a picture of what it looks like:

it looks like a satelite dish with a red X in the dish.

- I cannot either right or left click on it

- it is there whether the computer is connected to the internet or not

- of the 3 computers that I have that see the internet, only 1 has VS
2003. When the VS 2003 SP1 update was done, it appeared.
