Who have used uuid on HP IA-64?

On linux, there is uuid/uuid.h and libuuid.so that can be used to
generate GUID. But on HP IA-64 unix system, I can only find uuid in /
opt/dce/include/dce/uuid.h. Who have programmed with it?

HP-UX and DCE are offtopic here. But I assume it's similar to the
Linux version, and also that HP have documented it.
