your web application framework tastes!

Hi people,

I'm new to web programming under java. I have some basic understanding
how struts works (like actions, forwards, actionforms etc), some idea of
servlets and JSP. I want to start some small web project to practice and
gain confidence (maybe like a shopping cart) but I want to choose the
right technologies to use. I'm posting here to ask for some suggestions
about frameworks/design choices..

I hope to find something that let me:
-keep my model isolated from the web
-keep my html pages isolated so I can render them with a visual
tool like dreamworks or ask for someone to do it.
-work with something like an MVC
-don't have to deal with Session manually, get and posts variables etc.
-avoid having lots of XML files with configuration that I don't really need
like in struts.
-rapid development

I have taken a look at some framework named Wicket that looks promising but
it's still in beta..

what do you tell me??

something like JSF? struts??? pure servlets/JSP with command pattern??

ps: I'm also going to use mysql or hibernate/mysql

thanks to everyone!
