I've done that; I know how it works; I need *source code*.

This isn't the right place to ask for source code, for what I hope are
obvious reasons. If you have some code of your own people will be glad
to help you fix it though.

I'd suggest either hiring a programmer, try www.rentacoder.com for
isntance, or doing a bit of research on the internet and see if you can
find some freely available code you can adapt.

So when you said 'I make' you mean to execute the make command?

Why can't you people *help* me?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

a) writing an Autokey Vigenere Cipher is presumably a lot of work

b) people worry that you might have been given this as a homework
assignment and think it would be better for you to at least attempt to
do your own homework

Well then at least you can appreciate the concern that people have about
students getting their homework done for them on the internet.

I'm a bloody Cal State professor!!!!
If you are a Cal Stat professor, then I am ashamed to attend a Cal State
school, namely CSUSM. I would expect a professor to either know his
stuff, or know how to go about obtaining the needed information.

Which Cal State do you teach at, so that I can write to the
administration and tell them how bloody unqualified you are?

If you're a CSU professor, why are you hiding behind a gmail address?

Because there are strict rules that prohibit me from using my work
email for personal purposes, so I'm using my personal account for this;
it's a problem I'm doing for fun. I'm Dr. Robert Wilson, at Cal State
Long Beach.

Well. Not really.
It is simple table lookup.
Nothing breath taking and definitly not rocket sience. Every Cal State
professor teaching informatics should be able to do it in significantly
less then 2 hours.

Funny you should mention rocket science... See his post for arbitrary
precision math....

Apparently there actually is a Robert Wilson at CSULB, and the
frightening thing is that he's on both the MATH and CECS faculties!

Given either one, he should be able to figure out a Vigniere cipher or
arbitrary precision math. And given that he's a doctorate, he should be
able to figure out how to research the needed tools without demanding om
a childish manner that total strangers just give it to him.
