Capture Function Keys in IE or other alternatives?

Hi,

I need to capture function keys like F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, etc. entered
in Web page. I understand that
IE has reserved them for its own use and it might be much more
difficult or even impossible to override them. But I will need to use
those Function keys because they are what my clients used to use. I
have two questions:

1. Is it possible to override IE Function keys?
2. If not, how can I capture Ctrl+ function keys or
Shift+Function Keys instead?
