That's ambiguous. I hope you mean "there's a reason why [letters]
aren't [contiguous] and the reason is rooted in antiquity" not
"letters aren't rooted in antiquity and there's a reason why".
A hint is "Junior is eleven" but none of you here is likely
old enough to know what that means.
But I had more trouble remembering X vs Y than 12 vs 11.
OTOH, God is real unless declared integer. Plus I know one for
resistor color codes, but it isn't suitable here. I never found a good
one for telephone 25-pair, and now only remember blue, orange, green,
brown, gray cross white, red, rest, I've, forgotten.
