Compiler Error Message: CS0006 dll cannot be found

Hi to all,

I have spent 3 days at this error and i have two days to go for a
deadline, and i am about to go off my nut, the reason being: Microsoft
dont seem to be able to provide a solution, I have trawled the web and
the few that have the same error have not being provided a fix. This
error occurs if i make the slightest change in my project. If i
REBUILD my project no error occurs. So i keep having to rebuild my
project - this is not accepatable. Is there anybody out there that can
help. Error Below.

Hi

it only me i discovered the problem. i have this tag in my web.config file

<identity impersonate="true" />

i need it for a sharepoint 2001 search facility see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default.asp?url=/archive/en-us/dnarmscms/html/mcmssrch.asp

When i remove it, i dont have to rebuild project and no errors, but i need
it for the above article. Can someone explain what is going on? And any
workaround?

I have this same exact problem - I looked into my web.config and have the
tag you indicated. I am taking that tag out to see if it helps - but I need
that tag for ReportingServices....

Any help on this Microsoft?

If the dll is strongly named then put it in the GAC, and you wont have to
remove the tag.

Microsoft are silent about this bug.

When i remove it, i dont have to rebuild project and no errors, but i need

Putting it in the GAC made my problems multiply - plus I do not want it in
the GAC and I want to do an XCOPY deploy.

Once I confirm this is what it is - I will report it to PSS if I have to.
