How to generate unique ID in java (Hexadecimal format)

Dear Gurus,

I need to generate Unique ID (Hexa decimal) in java application i.e.
web application.
format of unique Id as follows

00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
e.g.
20080614-2253-42aa-0205-559000000002

Could any one help me.

need to know on UUIDs.
