J2ME: UnsupportedOperationException: Cannot evaluate x.toString()

If I try to debug a J2ME app in IntelliJ, when I hit a breakpoint and
debug some variables, I can never see the "toString()" value. Instead,
I get this UnsupportedOperationException. Is anyone else seeing this
error? Is there a way to fix this?
