OT: gettext with multiple textdomains

Hi,

Is it possible that the gettext() functions searches multiple
textdomains at once for translations without specifying one with the
textdomain()/dgettext() function?

I suppose it might be possible, or perhaps it's not.
The C language has nothing to say about those nonstandard
functions.

Why not try a group where they *are* topical?
("I can't find one" does *not* justify posting
off topic here).
